Isis, Osiris, and the Scorpion These are screen captures from Mark Haney's SkyGlobe that show the eastern and western horizons near the winter and summer solstices in 2000-2001. Due to precession, Orion no longer rises heliacally exactly on the solstice, but these should still give you a good idea of the position of the constellations in question.
